For 2020, we’ll still be bringing you weekly book, movie, and TV reviews but adding some fun new features as well.
For the past couple of years on the blog, I’ve followed a schedule that opens each month with a book buzz devoted to newer releases, follows up with a book review on the 2nd Tuesday of the month and an Old Favorites highlighting classic authors on the 3rd Tuesday, and then ends the month with a movie or TV review.
For 2020, however, we’re switching things up a little!
Did you know that a library card is your ticket to the world? Really! We intend to prove it to you by travelling via book to a new spot across the globe each month next year. Where are we going? Nobody knows! Well, we know, but you’ll have to stay tuned to see. 🙂 But readers of the blog will be some of the first to know as each month we’ll kick off with a special post taking you on the next leg of our journey!
Never fear, for the rest of the month, things won’t be all that different. Book and movie/TV reviews are still happening the 2nd and 4th weeks of each month, respectively. I’ll also still be writing the Book Buzz posts, but they will be replacing the Old Favorites feature on the 3rd week.
We’re also hoping to beef up the readers’ advisory resources on the blog to help our library staff, our patrons, and our blog readers from around the world. Readers’ advisory is the term libraries use for the service of helping folks find new books to read, based on their interests. The blog already functions as a readers’ advisory service, but we’re planning on adding recommendation lists and resources for a wide range of genres to help make it easier for people to navigate. We’ll also be adding viewers’ advisory resources for those looking for something new to them to watch. I’ve also been revamping tags and categories on older posts to make it easier to find suggestions for specific genres.
We should also have some news about our work toward a new library facility in 2020.
All in all, 2020 is already shaping up to be an exciting year for the Berryville Public Library and the Berryville Book Buzz blog. We hope you are ready to join us for some new virtual adventures!
