For the past several weeks, we’ve been voting through the Great Berryville Read brackets. Last night, we unveiled our local winner and then watched the countdown for the national vote live at our results party at the library.
The Great Berryville Read winner was E.B. White’s Charlotte’s Web*! Second place was Lois Lowry’s The Giver*, third place was Michael Crichton’s Jurassic Park**, and 4th place was national winner Harper Lee’s To Kill A Mockingbird*.
*Ebook and audiobook also available on Libby.

Thanks to all of you who participated by voting, reading, commenting, and discussing! 🙂

What do you think of the results? Where did your favorite book place? What result surprised you the most? Tell us in the comments!
I loved Charlotte’s Web, even though the ending had me ugly crying for years. Great pick!

I was really pleased with the results! I thought our library had a nice mixture of picks that the rest of the country loved and ones that were unique to us. 🙂

I’m so glad Charlotte’s Web won your Great Read contest! I will admit, I’m sad it didn’t win overall nationally.

The differences between local and national results have fascinated me! I would love to know more about what won in different regions and states.

Oooh. I wonder if PBS even has that data… Otherwise, we’d have to find it from libraries like yours. I wish my library had done this as well!

They made some vague comments about differing results by state in the finale, but I haven’t seen anything official. I’d love a map that includes all the local results! 🙂
